Students say goodbye to Zimbra

All student email accounts have now been removed from Zimbra. TCNJ will be look at ways of providing alumni that didn’t have Zimbra accounts (and therefore weren’t part of the conversion) with a method of signing up for a Google Apps account. Also, we will be identifying student organizational accounts for a future move to Google Apps.

Conversion complete – Google Apps for Education

The conversion to move all student email from Zimbra to Google Apps for Education is complete. If you are a student, please verify that all your email (new and old) is available in Google Apps for Education. Your Zimbra account will be deleted on June 3 starting at 11pm.

To log in to your new Google Apps for Education account, visit www.tcnj.edu, click on the Web Tools link in the upper right corner, then click on the Google Apps icon.

If you have any questions, please contact the helpdesk at 1-609-771-2660 (X2660 on campus). When calling with questions, please be as specific as possible. Provide examples of missing messages or folders.

TCNJ Students are moving to Google Apps!

We are excited to announce that TCNJ will soon move its email and calendar platform for students from Zimbra to Google Apps. With Google Apps, we’ll gain the benefits of a robust and innovative feature set, the ability to access email and calendar services from any Internet-connected computer, much more storage capacity, and lower infrastructure and support costs. What’s more, Google Apps is easy to use, and we think you’ll find it to be a more efficient way to manage your email and calendar!

In the coming months, you’ll receive additional announcements as we begin switching students’ Zimbra accounts to Google Apps. But don’t worry, you won’t lose important data, and your email address won’t change!

TCNJ would like to welcome you to your new Google Apps account. We hope you find the services to be an exciting and compelling new way to communicate and collaborate with your colleagues!

What you need to do

You can start using your email and calendar right away. However, if possible, you should also spend some time now to set up your account:

Migrate your calendar and personal contacts from Zimbra.
Verify your migrated data.
Recreate your Zimbra email rules using the “filters” feature in Google Mail.
Set up your mobile device and synchronize your data (if applicable).
