Moving Address Book & Calendar

When you are switched from Zimbra to Google Mail, TCNJ’s IT department will send you two emails (to your new account). One will be your exported Zimbra contacts, the other will be your exported Zimbra calendar events. You do not have to do this yourself. You will, however, have to take these two files and import them into your new Google account. Click the appropriate link below to see how this works.

Address Book

Note that if you have additional contacts lists (that you’ve created in addition to the default one), do the following:

  1. In Zimbra go to Preferences > Import/Export.
  2. In the Export section choose the Contacts radio button and “Outlook 2003 Contact” from the pull-down box.
  3. Choose “Browse…” next to Source: and double-click on the addressbook to export.
  4. Click the “Export” button to perform the export. It should create a browser pop-up. You want to Save File to a local folder on your hard drive.
  5. Then import using the information in the link above.

Calendar

Note that if you’ve created an additional calendar (in addition to the default one), you will need to export that manually by doing the following:

  1. In Zimbra go to Preferences > Import/Export.
  2. In the Export section choose the Calendar radio button and “Outlook 2003 Contact” from the pull-down box.
  3. Choose “Browse…” next to Source: and double-click on the addressbook to export.
  4. Click the “Export” button to perform the export. It should create a browser pop-up. You want to Save File to a local folder on your hard drive.
  5. Then import using the information in the link above.
